Well…I survived my first week of Soft 75!
Going into July, I knew this challenge would push me outside of my comfort zone. What I didn’t expect was how quickly this first week would fly by. Somehow it’s already time to look back at what went well, what was harder than I expected, and where I want to improve next week.
Four Pounds Down!
The biggest win this week? I’m officially down 4 pounds!
I know that not every week will look like this, and I don’t expect the scale to keep dropping at the same pace. Weight loss isn’t always a straight line, and I’m trying to remind myself that building healthy habits matters more than chasing a number. Still…I’m celebrating this win because it reminds me that showing up every day really does make a difference.
My Muscles Have Something to Say
Can we talk about muscle soreness for a minute? I forgot what it feels like to wake up and have every muscle remind you that you worked out yesterday. Walking up stairs has become an adventure, and sitting down requires a little extra planning! As uncomfortable as it is, there’s something encouraging about it too. It means I’m asking my body to do something new. Every workout is making me a little stronger than I was the day before. I’m hoping next week my muscles decide to be a little nicer to me.
The Nutrition Part Is Harder
If I’m being honest, the workouts haven’t been the hardest part. The nutrition has. Planning healthy meals, resisting the urge to grab something quick after a long day at work, drinking enough water, and making sure I’m eating enough protein has taken a lot more thought than I expected. I’m realizing that exercise only takes up an hour or two of my day. Nutrition is something I’m making decisions about all day long. I’m still figuring out what works for me, and I know there will be plenty of trial and error along the way. Instead of expecting perfection, I’m focusing on making one better choice at a time.
Finding My Blogging Routine
Another thing I’ve been working through this week is figuring out what I want this blog to become. When I first started, I wasn’t sure if I should post every day, once a week, or somewhere in between. After this first week, I think I’ve found a direction that feels right. My plan is to share a weekly update every Sunday—a place where I can celebrate the wins, admit the struggles, and reflect on what I’ve learned.
During the week, I’ll share smaller updates on social media, but here on the blog I want to slow down and tell the whole story. This isn’t just about losing weight, building discipline, creating healthier habits, learning to believe in myself again, and hopefully encouraging someone else who’s standing at the beginning of their own journey.
Looking Ahead
My goal for next week is simple:
- Stay consistent with my workouts.
- Improve my meal planning.
- Drink more water.
- Give myself grace when I have an imperfect day.
- Keep showing up.
- Build some kind of plan for my business.
One week down! Thank you for following along on this journey. Whether you’re here for the weight loss, the healthy habits, or you’re simply trying to build your own version of a Lucky Girl Lifestyle, I’m so grateful you’re here.
I’ll see you next week!
